THE STORY BEHIND THE PRINT...   

Each of my ‘Little Chinese Windows’ depicts a curated vignette of objects arranged as a still life image with image details layered over the top.

In this instance I have taken a playful, child like approach to photograph my collection of Chinese pin cushions with a shot taken from above to capture all of the fun patterns they create stacked one on top of the other. I love the sweet little painted faces of the dolls all looking upwards as if they are playing on a merry-go-round, pigtails swinging around in the wind! The curly blades of grass beneath them dotted with flowers and butterflies whilst swallows dart around in the sky above on a sunny day!
