THE STORY BEHIND THE PRINT...   

Each of my ‘Little Chinese Windows’ depicts a curated vignette of objects arranged as a still life image with image details layered over the top.

In this instance I have used a really fun and funky ‘Oh Yes’! sequin appliqué found in a market as the centre piece. It is pinned to a piece of vintage silk turquoise blue fabric with silver embroidered Chrysanthemums and covered in little white blossoms for a fresh uplifting colour palette. Either side I have added a beautiful jade green tea flask with an image of a pink peony on it opposite a turquoise teapot full of jade paint brushes. In front sits a pretty yellow tea cup and saucer full of jasmine flowers. Overlayed are some images of little shiny ‘bee appliqués’ busily buzzing around the flowers.
